Activities

Other than exploring Prague, sampling excellent Czech beers, and enjoying the National cuisine, there are a myriad of activities that can be undertaken throughout the year.

The often long, warm summer is the ideal time to discover the rolling hills of Sumava, or the rugged mountain range of Krkonose. Hiking or cycling is the transport of choice. For the less energetic, follow one of the many rivers in a canoe, or windsurf on one of the lakes. All the equipment may be hired locally, at reasonable rates.

Winter is the time for skiing or snowboarding, and in a country that is surrounded by mountains - there is no shortage of slopes. Cross-country and downhill are both very popular here.

Good fishing may be enjoyed from Spring to Autumn, with big Catfish and Carp being prevalent for the coarse Angler, and Trout and Grayling for those who can cast a deft fly across the river.
